Adding a New Email Account

DirectAdmin makes it easy to create professional email accounts using your own domain name. Each email account gets its own mailbox for sending and receiving messages.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Log in to DirectAdmin.

Navigate to Email Manager (or E-Mail Accounts).

Click on Email Accounts or Create Mail Account.

Select the domain for the email account if you have multiple domains.

Enter the desired email username (the part before the @ symbol). For example, entering
info
creates
info@yourdomain.com
.

Enter and confirm a strong password for the email account.

Set the Email Quota (mailbox storage limit in megabytes). Enter
0
for unlimited (subject to your account's total disk quota).

Click Create Account to finish.

The total number of email accounts you can create depends on your hosting plan. Check your account summary to see your limit.

After Creating the Account

Once the email account is created, you can access it through:

Webmail - Access your email in a browser at
https://yourdomain.com/webmail
or
https://your-server:2222/webmail
.

Email Client - Configure an email client like Outlook, Thunderbird, or your phone's mail app using the IMAP/POP3/SMTP settings described in our email client setup guides.

Managing Existing Accounts

From the Email Accounts page, you can:

Change Password - Click on the account and update the password.

Modify Quota - Adjust the mailbox storage limit.

Suspend/Unsuspend - Temporarily disable an email account without deleting it.

Delete - Permanently remove the email account and all its messages.

Deleting an email account permanently removes all messages stored in that mailbox. Ensure you have backed up any important emails before deleting an account.
